Our story

About Absorbine

The story of Absorbine began with a mission of compassion. Wilbur F. Young and his wife, Mary Ida, sought a better way to care for their hardworking delivery horses without resorting to the harsh "blistering" treatments common in the 19th century. They developed a natural herbal formula that became the Absorbine Veterinary Liniment, a product that remains a best-seller over 130 years later. Still family-owned through five generations, the brand has expanded its expertise into professional grooming with the world-renowned ShowSheen range, advanced fly protection like UltraShield, and innovative hoof care through Hooflex.
